If experts state that hearing is expected to return within a specific period, that period must be awaited. If no definite timeframe for recovery is given, no waiting period is observed.

If hearing returns before compensation (Diyah) is taken, the compensation is voided. If it returns after the compensation has been taken, it must be returned, similar to rulings concerning sight.
