If the parents claim to be Muslim, their statement prevails over the claim that they were non-Muslim. This is because the claim of disbelief (kufr) necessitates either that the deceased was Muslim and then apostatized, or that the parents were non-Muslim and converted after the deceased reached puberty. The fundamental presumption contradicts these claims.
