Primary text
If the defendant confesses to the claim (e.g., ownership of a house) in favor of the claimant who is currently absent from the locality, and the claimant then presents witnesses whose integrity (adālah) the judge verifies or who are vouched for by others whose integrity is known to the judge, the judge rules in favor of the absent claimant based on this evidence.
