Primary text
If the value of Ghanim's bequest is less than Salim's, the heir witness regarding the retraction is suspected of motive because they would be reducing the value from the greater amount (Salim) to the lesser (Ghanim). Therefore, her testimony regarding retraction is rejected, and Salim is manumitted. Ghanim is either fully manumitted or two-thirds of the remaining third is used, depending on the difference in opinion concerning whether the heir witness is wicked or not.
