What is the binding nature of the contract of deposit (Wadi'ah)?

The contract of deposit is revocable by either party (ja'iz min al-tarafayn). If the depositor wishes to reclaim his deposit, the custodian must return it based on Quran 4:58. If the custodian wishes to return it to the owner, the owner must accept it, as the custodian is volunteering to safeguard it and is not obliged to continue this voluntary act in the future.
