Primary text

A man is deemed wealthy if he possesses trade goods or a property whose yield is sufficient for him and his dependents. Such a person is forbidden from receiving anything from Zakat (charity). If the yield is insufficient, he may take only the amount required to meet his needs, regardless of the value of that amount. This ruling has been previously established in the context of Zakat.
