Requirement of an oath (Yamin) when accepting a claimant's statement regarding poverty?

An oath is not to be required from the claimant regarding his poverty if there is no certain knowledge indicating he is lying. The practice is established by the precedent of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, giving to two supplicants without swearing them in.
