Is the spoils of war (Ghanīmah) subject to the Khums (one-fifth division)?

The spoils of war are definitively subject to the Khums (one-fifth division). This ruling is established by the Noble Quran, specifically the verse: "And know that whatever you acquire of anything, then indeed, for Allah is one-fifth of it..." (Quran 8:41). There is no disagreement among the people of knowledge regarding the fundamental obligation of the Khums on the spoils.
