Is there a difference in ruling between accepting the stipend and accepting what is earned through trade involving deception?

The stipend granted by the Sultan is preferred over earnings of an equal amount gained through trade. This is because earnings in trade often involve a form of deception (*tadlis*) or gross exploitation (*ghabn fahish*), whereas the stipend is a direct grant from the Imam with his consent and lacks elements of deception or exploitation.
