Primary text
A person who travels for the purpose of committing sin is not to be given back their property unless they repent. Upon repentance, it is probable that giving it back is permissible because their return is not an act of disobedience, thus resembling the return of others. Indeed, their return home might be a relinquishing of the sin, such as an undutiful son returning to his parents, or one fleeing a creditor or wife returning to them.
Supporting text
It is also probable that it should not be returned because the initial reason for the situation was disobedience, similar to a debtor involved in sin.
