Primary text
If a man sells half of a specific slave whose manumission was suspended contingent upon a future event, lots are cast between the half-slave and the remaining whole slaves. If the lot of manumission falls upon the half-slave, only that half is freed. This freedom extends to the remaining half if the owner who made the declaration of manumission was solvent (mu'sir). If the owner was insolvent (mu'sir), only the half of the slave over which the lot fell is freed.
