What is the ruling on divorcing a wife twice in one period of purity (Tuhur) and then allowing her waiting period (Iddah) to expire without reconciliation?

Divorce performed in this manner is according to the Sunnah. This is because the husband has not made the woman irrevocably forbidden to himself, nor has he closed the door to repentance out of regret. However, it is disliked because he forfeited a divorce decree granted to him by Allah without gaining any benefit from it, similar to wasting wealth.
