If the conditions are fulfilled sequentially in the manner stated, divorce occurs. Following this, if the husband says to his slave, 'If you swear by the freeing of you, my wife is divorced,' the slave is freed. Similarly, if the husband says to the slave, 'If you swear by divorcing my wife, you are free,' the slave is freed. If the slave swears by the freeing of himself, the wife is divorced.
