What is the ruling if the husband says to a woman who has reached menopause (ā'isah), 'You are divorced in every cycle'?

Book of Divorce
Primary text
The Qadi states that one divorce takes effect in all cases. This is because he suspended her divorce upon a characteristic (cycle) that is impossible for her condition, thus the suspension becomes void (laghwin), and the divorce takes effect immediately, similar to if he had said to her, 'You are divorced by way of innovation (talaq al-bid'ah)'.
