What is the ruling if a husband says, "You are divorced, divorced, divorced," and claims he intended emphasis (Tawkid)?

If a husband states, "You are divorced, divorced, divorced" and claims he intended emphasis, his claim is accepted. This is because repetition of speech is used for emphasis, as demonstrated by the Prophet's saying, "Then her marriage is void, void, void." If, however, he intended to effect the divorce and repeated the pronouncements, three divorces fall. If he did not intend anything specific, only one divorce occurs because he did not use a conjunction suggesting a difference between the pronouncements, meaning they should not be treated as distinct.
