Primary text
There are two views. The primary view is that the divorce does not occur until Zayd arrives, because his arrival is a condition, and the conditioned event cannot precede the condition, as demonstrated by the unanimous agreement that divorce does not occur before arrival in the case of 'You are divorced if Zayd arrives,' or in the case of 'if Zayd arrives tomorrow.'

The second view suggests that if Zayd arrives, it is established that the divorce took effect from the beginning of the month, by analogy with the previous ruling concerning the day.
