What is the ruling if a man says to his wife, 'If you enter the house, you are divorced, then divorced, then divorced'?
Chapter on Explicit Divorce and Others

Primary text
If a man says to his wife, 'If you enter the house, you are divorced, then divorced, then divorced,' no divorce occurs until she enters the house, at which point all three divorces take effect. This is the view held by Al-Shafi'i, Abu Yusuf, and Muhammad. The condition of entry applies to the entire series of pronouncements.

The view of the Judge is that two divorces take effect immediately, and the third remains suspended upon entry. This opinion is deemed corrupt because it incorrectly applies the condition to the latter part of the conjunctive pronouncement while leaving the initial part unaffected, and it suspends the remote consequence instead of the immediate one without established legal proof.
