If a man says to a pregnant woman whose pregnancy is evident, 'You are divorced for the bid'ah,' she is not divorced immediately. The divorce occurs only upon delivery, because the post-natal bleeding period (nifas) is considered a time of bid'ah, analogous to menstruation.
