What is the ruling if a person states their intent for 'a year' meant the completion of Dhu al-Hijjah?

If the oath-taker states they intended 'a year' to mean when Dhu al-Hijjah concludes, this statement is accepted because they are affirming a stricter consequence upon themselves (i.e., a longer period if the actual year calculation was shorter).
