Primary text

If an oath is sworn not to strike, wound, or kill someone in the mosque, and the action takes place while the oath-taker is in the mosque but the victim is elsewhere, the oath is not broken (Laysa Hinth). This applies because striking, wounding, and killing are transitive acts whose location is determined by the location of the object acted upon (the victim). Therefore, if the victim is outside the mosque, the act is considered to have occurred outside the mosque.

Supporting text

If the oath-taker is outside the mosque and the victim is inside the mosque, the oath is broken, because the location of the action is deemed to be where the victim is.
