When a time period is designated as the container for divorce (e.g., today, tomorrow, a specific year or month), when does the divorce take effect?

When a time period is made a container for divorce, the divorce takes effect at the very first instant of that period. This applies if one says, 'You are divorced today,' 'tomorrow,' 'in such and such a year,' or 'the month of Muharram,' based on the principle established previously.

If a person states they intended the latter part, the middle, a specific day within the month, or the daytime but not the nighttime, their statement is accepted between them and Allah, but whether it is accepted in legal judgment is subject to two different narrations (Riwayatayn).
