The validity of retracting the declaration of divorce concerning a subsequent divorce spoken sequentially.

If a husband states, "You are divorced with one divorce, then another divorce after it," and subsequently claims he intended to mean that he would execute a subsequent divorce, this statement is accepted concerning the hidden intention (din) between him and Allah. However, whether this explanation is accepted in a judicial ruling is subject to two reported narrations (Rewayatayn). The default ruling is that the initial statement stands unless the subsequent explanation is accepted judicially.
