Primary text

The Mut'ah is not obligatory if the dissolution of the marriage occurs due to circumstances attributable to the wife that cause the specified dower to be entirely invalidated, such as the discovery of religious incompatibility or annulment due to nursing (*rada'ah*). In these instances, the dissolution acts as a substitute for half the specified dower, and just as a substitute that nullifies the original item is nullified, the right to compensation is voided.
