What is the ruling if a specific item (mithli) given as dower is found to be usurped?

If a dower item that is fungible (mithli) is found to have been usurped, the wife is entitled to a fungible equivalent because the equivalent is closer to the original item. This principle is followed in the case of compensating for destruction (itlaf). This is the ruling established by the jurists.
