Primary text

The wife is not obliged to accept instruction from the husband if he offers a different Surah than the one agreed upon. This is due to the variation among teachers in their method of instruction and because the wife has a specific interest in learning from him due to their marital relationship, which renders them permissible to one another. Since the husband is not obligated to teach another Surah, by analogy, she is not obligated to learn from someone other than the agreed-upon teacher (the husband in this context, or the specified Surah/teacher).
