If the deferred dower becomes due before the wife surrenders herself, she still cannot refuse consummation. This is because the obligation to surrender herself became established and settled before payment was due, meaning she cannot withdraw from the obligation after it became settled.
Supporting text
An alternative view, held by 'Abdullah ibn Hamid and attributed to the school of Abu Hanifa, maintains that she retains the right to refuse, because the submission is necessitated by the marriage contract, granting her the same right to withhold as in the initial instance.
