Primary text
If the wife receives the dower and finds it defective, she retains the right to refuse herself until the husband replaces it or pays her the compensation (Arsh) for the defect, as her dower is a valid contract obligation. If she surrenders herself before discovering the defect, the ruling follows the two aforementioned differing opinions regarding one who surrenders herself before receiving the dower.
