Al-Mughni
Book of the Eclipse Prayers (Solar and Lunar)
Primary text
It is Sunnah to exit for the Prayer for Seeking Rain in a state of humility, dressed in plain, ordinary clothes (not finery), abstaining from perfume, showing reverence, submission, and earnest supplication to Allah. Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, exited in this manner, and upon reaching the prayer place, he did not deliver a formal sermon like the usual Friday sermon but remained in supplication, earnest pleading, and uttering the Takbir, praying two rak'ahs as he prayed in the Eid prayer. Al-Tirmidhi graded this hadith as Hasan Sahih.
