Primary text

If one omits an agreed-upon condition or pillar of prayer, such as purification, bowing, or prostration, the ruling is the same as omitting the entire prayer because the prayer is considered non-existent under such circumstances.

Supporting text

If one omits an element about which there is scholarly disagreement, such as removing impurity, reciting Al-Fatiha, ensuring tranquility (*tuma'ninah*), or the upright posture between bowing and prostration or between the two prostrations, while believing the omission is permissible, then nothing is incumbent upon them. If they omit it while believing its performance is forbidden, they must repeat the prayer, but they are not executed for it, as the matter is disputed.
