Primary text
If the founder stipulates that the administrator (Wali) may eat from the endowment and feed a friend, the condition is valid. This is based on the precedent of Umar's endowment, where he included such a condition after consulting the Messenger of God (peace be upon him). If the founder themselves serves as the administrator, they may partake, just as Umar did. Furthermore, if a member of the founder's family administers it, they may also partake, following the precedent set by Hafsa bint Umar and later Abdullah ibn Umar administering Umar's charity.
