Primary text

That which may be sold and whose use is permissible while its essence remains intact is valid for endowment. This includes assets that are fundamentally continuous, such as real estate (real property), animals, weaponry, furniture, and similar items. Ahmad, in a narration by Al-Athram, stated that endowment concerning houses and lands should follow the precedent established by the Companions of the Messenger of Allah. The endowment of five palm trees for a mosque is permissible, which aligns with the opinion of Al-Shafi'i.

Abu Yusuf ruled that animals, slaves, cavalry equipment (Kiraa'), miscellaneous goods, weapons, young male servants, cattle, and implements attached to endowed land as subservient parts are not valid for endowment because animals cannot be used for fighting, invalidating the endowment similar to a temporary endowment.
