Primary text

If the swearer enters the place due to coercion such as striking, one position is that he does not break his oath (Hanith). This is supported by the prophetic saying: "My Ummah is pardoned for error, forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do." Furthermore, since he entered under compulsion, it is analogous to being carried under compulsion.

Another view is that he does break his oath because he performed the very act he swore to forsake by entering the place, a position held by the Ahl al-Ra'y and similar to the view of Al-Nakha'i.
