Does dissolving and swallowing sugar violate an oath not to eat sugar?

If a person swears an oath not to eat sugar (*sukkar*), and then leaves it in their mouth until it dissolves and they swallow it, the ruling depends upon the differing narrations/opinions (referring to the dual established views within the madhab).
