If the characteristic changes in a manner that removes its name, but it is then restored—such as a broken file being fixed, a broken pencil being sharpened, a splintered ship being repaired, a house being demolished and rebuilt, or a pillar being dismantled and reassembled—the oath is broken. This is because the components and the original name are still present, making it similar to a situation where no change occurred.
