Are root vegetables classified as 'fruit'?

Produce that grows in the ground, such as carrots, turnips, radishes, taro (*al-qulqas*), and sweet potatoes (*al-sawtal*), none of these are classified as fruit because they are not termed as such, nor do they fall under its meaning.
