Primary text
There are two views regarding whether wearing loose gold or silver coins (Dirham or Dinar) fulfills an oath not to wear jewelry. One view states that the oath is not broken because the coins do not constitute jewelry when not worn as such, meaning the status remains the same whether worn or not. The opposing view states that the oath is broken because the wearer is wearing gold and silver, which constitutes jewelry, similar to a bracelet or a ring.
