It is disliked to single out the fast on Nowruz and Mahrajan because these are days celebrated and honored by the disbelievers. Singling them out for fasting is considered an imitation and compliance with their exaltation of these days, similar to the ruling regarding Saturday.

By analogy, singling out any festival or day exclusively revered by the disbelievers for fasting is disliked.
