Primary text

Ahmad mandates feeding one poor person for each missed day. The measure of food given should be thirty portions of bread and meat of average quality if one is able to provide it.

Abu al-Khattab holds that two poor persons must be fed for each missed day. This is reasoned by the fact that death after negligence without completing another Ramadan mandates one expiation, and delay without death mandates another expiation; thus, when both occur, two expiations are due, analogous to neglecting two separate days.
