What is the ruling on treating the fasting of Rajab like the fasting of Ramadan?

It is prohibited to treat the fasting of Rajab by fasting it continuously, thereby resembling it to the fast of Ramadan. This is evidenced by the action of Abu Bakrah, who destroyed the preparations for fasting in Rajab upon finding them, indicating that elevating Rajab to the status of obligatory fasting (like Ramadan) is forbidden.
