What is the validity of a fast when the intended day of the week does not correspond to the actual day?

If someone intends to fast on Sunday, but the actual day is Monday, or if they believed tomorrow was Sunday and intended it as such, but it turned out to be Monday, the fast is valid. The essential intention to fast remains sound; the error lies only in the mistaken determination of the time or day.
