What is the ruling on inheritance if the just ruler intentionally kills his rebellious relative?

If the just ruler intentionally kills his relative from the outset, he does not inherit. However, if the intent was merely to strike him so he becomes incapacitated, and the relative dies from that wound, the ruler inherits because the killing was lawful (bi-haqq). This opinion belongs to Ibn al-Mundhir and is considered the closest view to correctness.
