Primary text

The المنصوص (explicit ruling) from Ahmad, as narrated by Abu Al-Khattab, is that the enema does not establish prohibition. This is also the madhab of Abu Hanifa and Malik. The argument against prohibition is that this is not nursing, nor does it result in nourishment, thus it does not spread the prohibition, similar to administering liquid into the urethra. Furthermore, it is not nursing or in its meaning, so the ruling of nursing cannot be established. It differs from breaking the fast, where flesh growth or bone strengthening is not required for invalidation.

Supporting text

Ibn Hamid and Ibn Abi Musa rule that it does establish prohibition, which is the madhab of Al-Shafi'i. Their reasoning is that it is a passage through which something invalidating the fast enters, so the prohibition of nursing becomes attached, similar to nursing itself.
