Primary text

It is disliked to nurse from a polytheist woman. Umar ibn Al-Khattab and Umar ibn Abdul Aziz disliked this because the milk becomes mixed, and one should not seek milk from a Jewess, a Christian, or an adulteress. Establishing motherhood through nursing with a polytheist results in the sanctity of a mother while the wet nurse is still in her state of polytheism, and she might incline the child toward her religion.
