Primary text
If a man marries a woman, and she nurses his son, thereby becoming prohibited to him, and then the man divorces her or dies, the first husband is prohibited from marrying her permanently. This occurs because when she nursed the boy (the son), she became the son of the first husband (since the milk derived from his seed/sexual intercourse through her relation to him in the prior context), making her the man's mother, which dissolves the marriage. Consequently, she became the wife of his son, which permanently prohibits her to the father due to her becoming one of the prohibited in-laws of his sons (halā’il abnā’ih).
