If milk from several women is mixed and fed to an infant, does this establish prohibition?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Fosterage (Breastfeeding)
Primary text
If milk is drawn from several women and given to a boy to drink, it is the same as if he had nursed from each woman individually. This is because if it were mixed with water or honey, it would not cease to be a prohibiting nursing relationship; similarly, when mixed with the milk of another woman, the prohibition is established.
Supporting text
The explicit ruling from Ahmad, in the narration of Ibrahim Al-Harbi, is that it spreads the prohibition. This is the preference of Abu Bakr, and the position of Abu Thawr, Al-Awza'i, Ibn Al-Qasim, the Ra'i scholars, and Ibn Al-Mundhir. Al-Khall states that it does not spread the prohibition.
