Primary text

Kinship prohibition does not spread through the milk of an animal under any circumstance. According to the majority of scholars, including Al-Shafi'i, Ibn al-Qasim, Abu Thawr, and the Ashab al-Ra'y (Hanafi school), if two individuals nurse from animal milk, they do not become siblings.

Supporting text

Some of the early generations (Salaf) held that if two individuals nurse from animal milk, they become siblings. This view is considered incorrect because maternal prohibition, which establishes siblinghood, is not attached to animal milk. Furthermore, animal milk was not created for the nourishment of a newborn, similar to other foodstuffs, so prohibition does not apply.
