What is the ruling when there is doubt regarding the existence or number of sucklings?
General Chapter

Primary text
If doubt exists concerning the existence of suckling or whether the required number of sucklings was completed, the prohibition is not established. This is because the default state is non-existence, and one cannot move from certainty (of no prohibition) to doubt concerning the prohibition, similar to doubt regarding the existence or number of a divorce.
