Who has the right of claim if one person sees an object before the other, but the second person takes it first?

If one individual sees an object before his companion, but the second individual proceeds to take possession of it, the one who reaches and takes possession first is considered the rightful claimant. The basis for acquisition is the actual taking (al-iltiqat), not merely the act of seeing.
