Primary text
If two individuals see an object at the same time, the one who manages to reach and take possession of it first, or places his hand upon it, has the greater right to it. This is established by the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "Whoever precedes a Muslim to what no other Muslim has preceded, he has the greater right to it."
