Primary text
If a second offense occurs after the first has been redeemed, the master must redeem her for the second offense in the same manner as the first redemption.

A second opinion attributed to Ahmad states that if the master redeems her once for her value, he is not obligated to redeem her again afterwards because she is an offender, and he is not obliged to pay more than her value, as if no prior redemption had occurred. Al-Shafi'i, in one of his two views, holds that the master is not secondarily liable, and the second injured party shares with the first in what the first received, similar to when all offenses occurred before any redemption.
